The Sights

Very few cities of Denmark have an English name too - Helsingør is one of them, maybe you know the city better by its English name: Elsinore.

Every summer the play "Hamlet prince of Denmark" written by William Shakespeare, is performed at Kronborg Castle.

Kronborg Castle rules the Sound between Elsinore and Hälsingborg, and every ship, which was passing the castle, should pay custum due.

The eldest parts of the castle are from 1420, and what you see today is from 1585 where the castle had finished a enormeus rebuilt.

Holger the Dane is a legend-heroe, who sleeps until Denmark is in great danger. You can se him in the cellars of Kronborg Castle.

Helsingør has still some narrow street near the harbourgh

and a cloister garth from the time when Denmarks was a Catholic country.
