The Sights

Mariager is named after the Virgin Mary, because of a convent built in 1430.

The town is beautiful placed by Mariager inlet, which is going from the Kattegat.

The inlet is the only one of the eastcoast of Jutland which is not named after the town where the inlet is ending.

The church and some buildings from the convent is still there and are worth a visit.

Mariager has a beautiful center with many well-preserved old buildings.
