The Sights

The eldest city in Denmark today is Ribe, which has been a very important city about 1,000 years ago.

Ribe has over 100 listed buildings. The eldest is from 1300 and is today the city hall. In Ribe you can also find the best preserved cloister garth in Denmark.

If go walking on the streets of Ribe about 10 pm you can meet a night watchman.

Even on a rainy day Ribe is a beautiful city with its old cathedral, which is about 800 years old. From the tower of the cathedral you can see things 100 kilometers away.

Near the center is the little harbour, where you can have dinner at one of the ships used before the time of railroads and trucks arrived.
