The Sights
Where the hotel Gl. Skivehus is placed, has been a royal house, because of an important ferry station.
Skive has not much left of old buildings. Only Skive Gl. Kirke (The old church) and a barn of the royal house is left.
Not far away is a very interesting old castle - Spøttrup.
Spøttrup castle is built about 500 years ago as a strong fortification for the archbishop, who was residing in Viborg.
During the 500 years the castle haven't been changed very much, so today it is a unique example of a castle from the Middle Ages.
Museums
A large open-air museum, which during the summertime is 'working'.
Among the many interesting buildings is also a big Stone Age settlement.
