At September the 28th 2000 a referendum was held about joining the Euro monetary union.
The referendum turned out to be a vote for 'No' - so Denmark hasn't joined the monetary union yet.
However a sample of Danish Euro coins has been issued late 2002. The coins are not valid and are only made for collectors by a UK company.
