The ferries used at the line were larger than the ones used at the Lillebælt-line, but lesser than the ferries used at the Storebælt-line.

Until the end of the ferry line 3 ferries were in use, where one of them was a paddle steamer. Because of the growing traffic to Germany besides the need for a better connection one of Europes longest bridges were built to replace the ferry line. The bridge was opened the 26th of September 1937 by the King of Denmark.
