In 1978 some adjustments of the postal rates took place so new values of the stamps for daily use were issued.

The way of spelling Greenland in the Greenlandic language changed a little, so the stamps have the new way of spelling.

Commerative Stamps

To celebrate the 100 years anniversary of the Commision for scientific explorations in Greenland a stamp was issued in 1978.

June 5 1978 a stamp was issued to celebrate the new constitution, which change Greenland from a colony to an equal part of Denmark.

The city of Nuuk (Godthåb) became 250 years old in 1978.
