Temperature Converter

Celsius is named after a Swedish astronomer and physicist Anders Celsius, who lived from 1701 to 1744.

He proposed in 1742 to divide the temperature scale into 100 degrees, with 0 degrees standig for the boiling point of water and 100 degrees standing for the freezing point of water.

Luckily this was reversed so the definition of Celsius is:

0 degrees Celsius is the freezing point of water

100 degrees Celsius is the boiling point of water
