The Sights

Storebælt, or in english - The Great Belt, has been a barrier to the traffic between the western and the eastern part of Denmark.

Over a 100 years ago - when the ferries for the railroadwaggons began to sail - a plan was made for building a bridge between Zealand and Funen.

During the years the plans were changed, but finally a plan became reality. The beginning of building a connection between east and west took place in the 1980's.

For the railroad was built a bridge and a tunnel and for the autos was built a suspension bridge.
