The Sights

Silkeborg is a 150 year old city, which came into existence because of a paperfactury built 150 years ago.

The factury was built at this place, because it was rather easy to use the waterpower.

The area, where Silkeborg is placed, is called the Lake Land.

A trip from Silkeborg to Himmelbjerget by one of the eldest steam-ships in the world is a must - and also a very beautiful experience.

From the top of the tower is a manificiant view over the many lakes.

The Danish 20 Kroner bank note is the very last Danish bank note printed on paper manufactured in Denmark.

A few years after the printing stopped of the bank note the paperfactury in Silkeborg had to close down.
