In the nearly 35 years King Christian was the king of Denmark 5 commemorative
coins have been coined.
The first coin with the portrait of King Christian X is the commemorative
coin from 1912, which is a 2 Krone made of silver, coined to celebrate
the accession of the new king.
The coin was used in the normal circulation.Since 1924, where the monetary-union
between the Scandinavian countries had ended, the silver-coins were
not used in the normal cirkulation.
Because of the silverwedding of Queen Alexandrine and King Christian
X in 1926, a new silver 2 Krone was coined. It could be seen in the
normal cirkulation.
4 years later - 1930 - King Chritian X was celebrating his 60th birthday.
The portrait of the king is the same as used when he was entering the
throne as a 42 years old man.
The portrait was newed at the commerative coin, which was coined to
celebrate that King Christian had been king of Denmark for 25 years
in 1937.
The last silver 2 Krone coined during the reing of King Christian X
was issued September the 26th 1945 to celebrate his 75th birthday.
This coin was also the last silvercoin you have been able to see used
for normal payments in Denmark.
