People were standing alongside the quay with torches in there hands saying goodbye to an era. With the ships the trip across The Great Belt lasted 60 minutes, but after the tunnel and the bridge for the railroad was opened the 1st of June 1997 the same trip is lasting 8 minutes.

As the suspension bridge for the automobiles was opened The 14th of June 1998 the ferry service at The Great Belt stopped.
