A bridge and a tunnel are opened between Zealand and Funen in 1998. It is reducing the time used for travel between east- and west-Denmark with 1 hour.

July the 1st 2000 Sweden and Denmark were connected by a bridge. You can take the train and go to Rønne at Bornholm in less than 3 hours - a trip which before the bridge took at least 6 hours.
