In 1929/30 reached the railroads their maximum.

Nearly every little town had a railroadconnection, but because of the increasing of cars, railroads began to be closed down.

The first railroad to be closed was the private-owned railroad from Kolding to Egtved. The railroad was closed in 1930.

Since 1920 the most of the private-owned railroads got new trains, which were using gas or diesel. It made the running of the railroads cheaper.

In 1934 Denmark got its first electric trains, which were used as suburban trains.

The 1930s were the big bridgebuilding years in Denmark. from 1935 a bridge is connecting Funen and Jutland. In 1937 a bridge is opened so the traffic to Germany from Copenhagen is a lot easier.
