In the middle of the 1920s, it was decided to let the ordinary postage stamps be replaced by stamps showing an old ship instead of the king. Only the high-values should still have the kings portrait.

Until 1933 the Danish stamps were all printed on a private owned printing house. Stamps, which were not in use anymore were overprinted.

To reduce the cost of making stamps for use in book of stamps, small commercials were printed as a appendages in the same size as the stamps.

Commerative Stamps

September the 26th 1930, king Christian the 10th became 60 years old. A series of stamps with a new portrait of the king is issued. The series has all the common values used at the Postal Services.
