Commerative Stamps
For no particular reason a little series of stamps was issued
because Denmark in 1960 still was an agriculture country.
The royal couple had silverwedding in 1960 - two stamps with
the king and queen were isued to celebrate.
To celebrate it was 400 years ago the Danish lighthouse and buoy
service was established a single stamp was issued.
A famous Danes, Niels R. Finsen, who got the Nobel price (medicine)
in 1903 was remembered by a stamp issued because of his 100th
birthday.
The European part of WHO had its 10th conference. The conference
was taking place at Copenhagen in August 1960.
In September 1960 it was the first time Denmark issued a stamp
dedicated to Europe. The stamp is looking like the stamps issued
in Europe for the same reason: celebrating The European Postal
and Telecommunication Association
The queen of Denmark- queen Ingrid - has silver jubilee as girl
scout in 1960. A stamp was issued with a surplus, which was given
to The Scouts Foundation for Destitute Children.
