In 1979 there was a new increase of the postal rates so new values were made, so people only should use one stamp for the correct rate.

Commerative Stamps

In 1979 the sixth series of stamps about a Danish province were issued. At the 4 stamps are shown places more northerly of Jutland.

The composer, Jacob Gade, who wrote "Tango Jalousie" could have been a 100 years old in 1979. Also in 1979 it was 100 years ago the known ballet master August Bournonvilles died. The two stamps were issued the same day and are drawn by the same artist, Henry Heerup.
