The house where I grew up was built in 1928 as a cottage with a wonderful
view to the lake - Damhussøen.
Before ww2 (1940-1945) the house was changed to a bigger house, but
still it had a kind of cottage-look, with woodcovered walls and grass
on the roof.
My parents bought the house in 1945. My family moved from a minor flat
before I was born to this big house with its huge garden, which a gardener
was taking care of.
It was exciting to enter the roof. The view frem the top was exiting,
and then, the grass you could lie on was like heaven.

There was a very long garden walk, from the road up to the house.
Along the garden walk were many old trees, so in the summertime
it could be a little dark.
