The Sights
King Christian 4. began and his son Frederik 3. finished The Citadel
in 1663.
The Citadel is today an oasis in the city. It is placed near
Rosenborg, and if you go inside you will arrive in another world!
No noises from the city, the redpainted buildings are all from
1663, the yellow buildings, among them a church, are from the
18th century.
A tradition in Copenhagen is to have a walk on the ramparts on
a special holiday evening in the springtime.

Only a little walk away from the citadel you can take a boat
to visit another fortress at the harbour area.
The fortress is named "Trekroner" - "Three Crowns", where you
can find a restaurant.
