The traffic crossing The Great Belt - Storebælt - was increasing
and bigger and better ferries were built.
One of the most famous ferries was "Christian IX", which was built
in 1908 and was sailing for the next 56 years. It was the first ferry
at The Great Belt, which was using propeller instead of paddle wheels.
The first motor-ferry was built in 1928 and was sailing until 1981.
It was the first ferry, which was prepared for the new high-speed trains,
which began to run in 1935.
