The most well-done ferry was "Kong Frederik IX", which was built in
1954. The ferry have a nickname 'The King' because everything is so
welldone.

In 1957 a new connection between Zealand and Funen was establised.
The connection was only for automobiles and trucks. For use at the new
line some two-decker ferries were built, where the first one, Halskov,
was sailing already from 1956.

The first of these two-decker ferries had also rails, so the feries
could be used as railway feries as well.
