Denmark was occupied by Germany April the 9th 1940. There was a big doubt if the Krone-coins should disapear from the cirkulation as they did in 1914 (WW1). Therefore The Central Bank printed a 1 Krone paper money.

Nothing happened, so there was only this little bundle of paper notes hidden away in the cellars of the bank.

Like in other occupied countries, the Allies had printed a special series of paper money for use if their troops arrived.

May the 5th 1945 the English military forces came to Denmark. They brought the paper money and at once they were valid money in Denmark.

The values of the paper money are:

25 øre,
1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 Kroner

They were only in use a very short time in 1945.
