In 1942 it was decided to make a new series of stamps for daily use and because the king of Denmark became a very important symbol of Denmark, the kings portrait again were placed at all values.


Commerative Stamps

Some of the most beautiful stamps of Denmark were issued during the German occupation of Denmark. They are showing 3 Danish churches.

The later Danish part of SAS - Scandinavian Airlines System - could in 1943 celebrate it was 25 years ago it was founded.

DDL - Det Danske Luftfartsselskab, which is Danish for The Danish Airline Company - had in 1943, because of the war, only 2 routes, one to Bornholm, a Danish island, and one to Germany.

The stamp from 1942 with the Roundtower was overprinted with a surplus for the Danish Red Cross.

Ole Rømer could in 1944 celebrate his 300 years birthday.

To celebrate the kings 75th birtdday - September the 26th 1945 - a little series of postage stamps were issued with the most used values.
