Commerative Stamps
The second half of the beautiful series of commerative stamps
to celebrate Denmark has been a kingdom for 1,000 years, was issued
in 1954 - 1956.
The postal service had a large stock of stamps issued in 1947
for the foundation for helping people or their relatives who had
been in the Resistance. 1955 the stamps were surcharged with new
values.
The famous Danish Philosopher Søren Kirkegaard was remembered
by a stamp issued 100 years after his death.
