Because of the rising inflationrate during the 1970's only a
half year was passing in 1976, before a new increasing of the
postal rates took place. A common letter mailed to a person inside
the country was now rated to 100 Øre (1 Krone).
The postal services could hardly print the stamps with the queens
portrait in the right colors for the new values - the red color
has been signaling the rate for a normal letter since 1905.
Commerative Stamps
In 1976 the third series of stamps about a Danish province were
issued. At the 4 stamps are shown places in the city of Copenhagen.
The third Danish miniature sheet of stamps was issued in June
1976 because of the international stamp exhibition in Copenhagen,
which took place in August. The sheet was only sold together with
an admission ticket. The stamp itself were issued in sheets of
20 pieces.
