In 1969 began a series of stamps, which were used as normal stamps
like the stamps with the king. The stamps are showing the nature
of Greenland and are drawn by the Greenlandic artist Jens Rosing.
Commerative Stamps
The 4th of May 1970 it was 25 years ago the German occupation
of Denmark ended. To mark the day a stamp was issued showing happy
Greenlanders hoist the Danish flag to the masthead.
In 1971 it was 250 years ago the missionary Hans Egede arived
at Greenland. Two stamps were issued, one with a surplus for the
churches in Greenland.
To remember king Frederik IX, who died in January 1972, a stamp
was issued in April. The subject for the stamp is the king and
the royal yacht lied at anchor by Umanak.
