Because of making a free port in Copenhagen some new areas became available for houses. In the autum 1904 line no. 9 was established to traffic the new areas of Copenhagen.

After a few years, plans were made for making this line to be circle line. Tracks were layed and more and more it seemed the cirkle line should be a reality. However, a little mile of rails was never done.

The last day for the line to be a streetcar line was April the 30th 1966. The nickname of the line was: The Parrot because of the green and red colors of the lanterns.
