Line no. 16 was a new streetcar line, which began running in 1920.
It became the first streetcar line to run outside Copenhagen, because
in 1924 the line was going to Søborg, a suburb of Copenhagen.

From 1946 to 1956 line no. 16 also had some extra
trips from the terminus to the cemetery, Vestre Kirkegård. |
The line became one of the most important streetcar lines in Copenhagen.
|
The last day for the line to be a streetcar line was April
the 25th 1970.
The nickname of the line was:
The Funeral line because the line was running between
2 cemeteries and even was passing one at the middle of the
line.
