Because of the accession of the new queen a 10 Krone silvercoin was
issued in 1972 - the side with the portrait of king Frederik IX was
originaly for a 10 Krone coin, which should have been issued because
of the kings 25th aniversary as king in April 1972.
For the first time since 1945 Denmark has issued commemorative coins for
use as the normal coins. Everyone of the commemorative coins have been
issued in 1,000,000 copies in the highest value of the normal coins and
in the same metal as the normal coins, although they are rather seldom
in the circulation.
In May 1986 the crownprince had his 18th birthday and a 10 Krone silver
coin was issued.
The coin was also issued in the same metal, for the normal circulation,
as the normal 10 Krone coins.
