In April 1940 Denmark got occupied by Germany.
The last copper-coins were coined in 1940, and as usual in wartimes
people were hiding anything of value like e.g. the coppercoins.
The used milk bottle tops were collected and by the metal, aluminum,
were coined 5, and 2 Øre coins in 1941.
To prevent the Germans from getting the metals from the danish coins,
all small values were replaced by coins made of zine.
The half-Krone was declared not legal tender and the metal for these
coins were used for a new 1 Krone.
